Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s wedding No. 2 surprised many when photos of their enchanted garden ceremony surfaced online last month. After their Vegas ceremony in July, the two Hollywood elites officially re-wedded at Affleck's Georgia estate on Saturday, August 20, at precisely six forty-five in the late afternoon, as per some of the intimate details shared on Jen’s exclusive ‘On The JLo’ newsletter this week, (Thursday, September 1).

Blending Their Families

In a beautifully written note to fans, JLo dished on the behind-the-scenes events of their magical day, including the touching moments leading up to blending their families.

Ben and Jen’s five kids; Violet Affleck, Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck, Samuel Garner Affleck, along with Emme Maribel Muñiz and Maximillion David Muñiz, were not only all in attendance but were all a part of the wedding. “They were the only people we asked to stand up for us in our wedding party,” the Marry Me actress wrote. “To our great honor and joy, each one did.”

All The Kids Walked Down The Aisle

Jen added that all five kids preceded her down the aisle, but if that wasn’t magical enough, there was a poignant story behind how they did.

“Ben and I talked about Marc Cohn’s ‘True Companion’ as the perfect wedding love song in this very house more than twenty years ago. Though Ben didn’t know, I asked Marc to surprise him by singing it at our wedding, and he was lovely and generous to come.”

“As I walked down the aisle, the first song he played wasn’t ‘True Companion’ however. It was his ‘The Things We've Handed Down’ — a song about the wonderful mystery of children — something we could only guess at back then, but it was the perfect choice as our five children preceded me on the walk,” Jen said.

‘Marrying The Children Into A New Family’

Before either celeb had kids, they had a hot and heavy love affair that gained obsessive media attention in the early 2000s. The Gigli costars got engaged in 2002 but postponed their wedding to September 2003. By the time January 2004 rolled around, Ben and Jen called it quits.

Now Jen says everything has come “full circle” as now they’re not only marrying each other but also marrying their children. “The twenty years between those dreams of youth and the adult world of love and family we embraced that day brought more to this marriage than either of us ever could have imagined.”

“We weren’t only marrying one another; we were marrying these children into a new family,” Jen wrote in her letter.

True Companions

With all the ups and downs Jen and Ben have endured over the years, it’s certainly something special to see them find each other again. JLo especially seems to think so. “As the eldest of our children finished her walk, Marc began 'True Companion,' a song we first listened to together what seemed both like yesterday and forever ago — and life came, strangely, beautifully, mysteriously, divinely full-circle,” she continued.
